HUDDERSFIELD Town centre-back Joel Lynch has been named in the Wales squad for the World Cup qualifiers  against Scotland and Croatia.

The 24-year-old summer signing made his debut in the 2-0 friendly defeat by Bosnia  Hercegovina at Llanelli in August.

He was forced to pull out of the squad for the opening qualifiers against Belgium and Serbia last  month because of an Achilles tendon injury.

Both matches ended in defeat – Chris Coleman’s side slumped 6-1 in Serbia – leaving the new  national manager already under pressure.

Wales, bottom of Group A, face Scotland in Cardiff a week today, October 12, then travel to  Croatia on Tuesday, October 16.

Lynch returns to duty for Town at Birmingham tomorrow after serving a three-match suspension  following his sending off at Sheffield Wednesday.
