HUDDERSFIELD Town's Jimmy Spencer twice hit the bar while Sean Scannell was the stand-out player as Town and Leeds fought out a goalless draw in their Under 21 Professional Development League clash at the John Smith’s Stadium.
Bury boss and former Town player and Leeds manager Kevin Blackwell was among the crowd as Steve Eyre’s development side, which included Alan Lee, Tom Clarke and Murray Wallace, made it three matches unbeaten.

Town had the clearer chances, but Leeds had spells of pressure in an entertaining clash in which Scannell, aiming to force his way back into regular first-team contention after injury, looked strong and full of running.
The former Crystal Palace man had Leeds retreating in the fifth minute as he burst through from halfway and drew a good save from former Town keeper Paul Rachubka with a firm left-foot strike.
Soon after that, development team skipper Jordan Sinnott crossed for Spencer to head against the bar.
Midfielder Matt Crooks was the next to test Rachubka with a long-range shot which was pushed away for a corner, and Sinnott had a drive saved before a Wallace header was held.
Town stopper Lloyd Allinson thwarted Dominic Poleon before, on the stroke of half-time, Rachubka dived to block Spencer’s well-struck shot from just inside the area.
Allinson made another save from Poleon as Leeds started the second half strongly, but Spencer again came close on the hour, breaking down the right and thumping the ball against the bar and over.
Leeds captain Zac Thompson shot wide from Poleon’s lay-off before Poleon had a shot deflected over as Neil Redfearn’s visitors ended the game on the offensive.
