SIMON GRAYSON labelled Huddersfield Town’s win over Wolves as “one of the best all-round performances I have had from any of my teams.”

The former Blackpool and Leeds chief looked on with satisfaction as Town turned on the style in the first half, then defended doggedly in the second to climb from sixth to third in the Championship.

“You have to have different ingredients to win games,” said Grayson after a sixth success of the season and first in three attempts on home turf.

“We won this one courtesy of our attacking in the first half and our desire not to get beaten in the second.”

The goal-getters were two of Grayson’s loan signings – Norwich’s James Vaughan, who headed home, and Leicester’s Jermaine Beckford, who produced a hooked volley.

“Both were fantastically created and finished,” he continued.

“Jack Hunt’s cross was a superb piece of skill and James Vaughan provided a great header for the first.

“For the second, Adam Clayton cleared the ball from the edge of our box, won the second ball, took it forward and put in a great delivery. It was Jermaine’s 100th league goal, and what a way to bring the century up!

“We put them under heavy pressure in the first half and if we had come in five goals up, I don’t think anyone could have had any complaints.
