HUDDERSFIELD TOWN’S four loaned-out players face a blank weekend – because none of them can play in the FA Cup.
Town, who don’t enter until the third round in January after their promotion to the Championship, have strikers Kallum Higginbotham and Jimmy Spencer at Carlisle and Brentford respectively.
And both defender Liam Ridehalgh and midfielder Chris Atkinson are at Chesterfield.
Carlisle host Ebbsfleet in the first round on Saturday, when Brentford are at Boreham Wood and Chesterfield host Hartlepool.
Higginbotham has made seven appearances for Carlisle and Spencer has played twice as a substitute for their League I rivals Brentford.
League II Chesterfield have fielded full-back Ridehalgh 15 times at Atkinson 10 times (the 20-year-old has scored three goals for the Spireites).
The pair are now playing under Paul Cook, who took over as manager in succession to John Sheridan ahead of Saturday’s 1-0 home defeat by Barnet.
Former Accrington boss Cook is working alongside Tommy Wright, who had been caretaker manager.
Leam Richardson is pushing for the Accrington job permanently after leading them to a 1-0 home win over Bristol Rovers in League II.
Stanley head to AFC Fylde – based at Kirkham, near Preston – in the FA Cup on Saturday.
The opening first-round tie is between Cambridge City and MK Dons on Friday.
The following day’s clashes include Doncaster v Bradford Park Avenue, Guiseley v Barrow and Northampton v Bradford City.
