Jermaine Beckford
SIMON GRAYSON is desperately hoping to have both James Vaughan and Jermaine Beckford available for Saturday’s key home Championship clash with Bolton.
Injuries mean both loan strikers have played only 50% of the games since they signed from Norwich and Leicester respectively.
Vaughan returned after a seven-match absence with a thigh problem in Saturday’s disappointing 4-2 derby defeat at home to Leeds, Town’s third loss in four.
However ex-Leeds man Jermaine Beckford missed a fourth game since the 1-0 win at Barnsley, when he notched his third goal in six Town appearances but picked up a hamstring injury.
Vaughan has three in nine outings and Grayson said: “It was good to have him around after being out for a long time.
“He was a bit rusty, but he will be able to get a full week’s training under his belt ready for the Bolton game.
“We also had Sean Scannell on the bench (after four games out with a hamstring injury) and Jermaine is making progress with his treatment.”
