STRIKER Kallum Higginbotham is back at Huddersfield Town after having his loan spell at Carlisle cut short.
The 23-year-old forward has fallen down the pecking order at Brunton Park after playing 11 times for the League I side.
He was due to remain until December 22, but Carlisle boss Greg Abbott has opted not to keep the Salford-born player until then.
Higginbotham joined Town from Falkirk during the transfer window last January, but has struggled to tie down a regular place.
However his five starts include the League I play-off final against Sheffield United at Wembley in May (he has also made two appearances from the bench).
Higginbotham, who previously played for Rochdale and Accrington (on loan) was loaned to Barnsley by Town boss Simon Grayson last season.
Town have two players still out on loan – Liam Ridehalgh at League II Rotherham and Jordan Sinnott at Altrincham, of the Blue Square North.
Ridehalgh, who has already been on loan at League II Chesterfield this season, has played twice for the Millers, who host Gillingham today, while Sinnott, whose dad Lee is Altrincham manager, could make his debut at home to Gainsborough.
Town development squad players Matt Crooks and James Burke are to join Radcliffe Borough on loan.
Both regulars in senior professional development coach Steve Eyre’s Under 21 side this season, the teenage pair joined the Evo-Stik League Northern Premier Division I North side until January 12, and have joined Borough ahead of their game at Salford City today.
With Town’s next fixture in the Under 21 League not scheduled until January 16, Crooks and Burke follow midfielder Sinnott out on loan.
“This is a challenge for the two lads, one that we think will be a positive experience in a really good environment,” said Steve Eyre.
