Huddersfield Town v Ipswich Town: Fans' and Examiner player ratings

IT WAS a tight affair between Huddersfield Town and Ipswich Town on Saturday.

There wasn't a huge amount of goalmouth entertainment at either end but Town walked away with a point.

But what did the fans make of the game? You gave us your player ratings and reports after the match. See them on page two.

Compare them with Examiner sports editor Mel Booth's marks below.

ALEX SMITHIES
Didn’t have a serious save to make as Town defended much more solidly than of late. Directed things well 6

PAUL DIXON
Made an outstanding late block to deny Luke Hyam after earlier getting forward well and supplying some top crosses 7

CALUM WOODS
Did a decent job at right-back to keep Lee Martin at bay and kept possession well when coming under pressure 6

ANTHONY GERRARD
Returned to the centre of defence and won his share of vital headers. Very vocal in geeing up his teammates 6

PETER CLARKE
Looked like a man who was determined not to concede after shipping 10 in the previous two matches. 7

OSCAR GOBERN
Handed his first League start of the campaign and saw plenty of the ball in midfield as Town looked for fluency 6

LEE NOVAK
Played on the left first half and up the middle in the second, he worked hard as usual but miscued his best chance 6

ADAM CLAYTON
Did plenty of good things in the first half before taking a whack on a foot and suffering before being taken off. 6

NEIL DANNS
Tried his best to get Town ticking in the centre, but their build-up was often too slow to really pressure Ipswich. 6

JAMES VAUGHAN
Grafted really hard once again when leading the line without getting a sniff of a decent chance. Splendid effort. 7

SCOTT ARFIELD
Supplied a couple of good through balls and put in a decent shift, having a shot deflected wide early on. 6

Substitutes:
Theo Robinson (for Novak 58) 6;
SeanScannell(for Gobern 64) 6;
Jack Hunt (for Clayton 75) 6.
