DAVID STOCKDALE once hoped to land a professional contract with Town – now he’s trying to keep them out.

Hull’s on-loan Fulham goalie, pictured, was born in Leeds and in the Town junior system in his early teens before moving to York in 2000.

He went on to make 24 appearances for the Minstermen, who loaned him to both Wakefield (originally Emley) and Worksop.

Stockdale really caught the eye after a move to Darlington, then of League II, in 2006, and earned a switch to Premier League Fulham in 2008.

The Cottagers agreed a fee of £350,000, rising to a potential £600,000.

The 27-year-old has made 26 appearances for them.

He has also had loan stints at Rotherham, Leicester, Plymouth and Ipswich and will play a 17th game for Hull today.

The Tigers have striker Matty Fryatt returning from a long-term Achilles problem, but are unlikely to include him today.
