HUDDERSFIELD Town boss Mark Robins is hoping Jack Hunt will be in contention for Saturday’s key Championship relegation tussle at home to Millwall.

Town are back in the drop zone after losing 1-0 at Blackburn, but a 12.30 kick-off against the Londoners provides the chance to put extra pressure on the others who are fighting for survival.

A three-point haul would lift third-bottom Town above Wolves, who are away to Charlton, Peterborough, at Derby, and Blackburn, who visit Crystal Palace, before those three play.

Amazingly, Town are only six points off the top half of the division, and upbeat Town boss Robins says there is everything to play for.

As right-back Hunt, out for three games with a hamstring injury, completed another training session, Robins said: “The Blackburn result clearly wasn’t what we were looking for.

“Neither was the performance, because we were laboured and failed to set about the opposition the way I wanted us to.

“We are back in the relegation zone, but we know that’s the way the division is, and we know that beating Millwall will give us a great chance of getting back out of it.

“It looks as though it will go right to the wire, and we have three games left in which to give ourselves the best opportunity of staying up.

“There’s no point dwelling on Tuesday night, we have to move on and think about how to win the next game.

“While Danny Ward is still a little way off with his groin injury, Jack Hunt is back in training and will hopefully be available for the squad.”

Millwall bounced back from the setback of their FA Cup semi-final defeat by Wigan by beating Watford 1-0 at The New Den.

But Kenny Jackett’s 16th-placed side, who won through Shaun Batt’s 83rd-minute goal, still need points to ensure their own safety.

Jackett’s right-hand man Joe Gallen said: “In the second half I thought the whole club seemed to galvanise.

“We did not have too many chances but the one clear-cut one we did get, Shaun put in.

“It was a huge relief, especially after the other results.

“I haven’t got a clue what the safety figure is, I’ve never seen anything like the division this year.

“But a win against Huddersfield on Saturday would take us away from them and up to 58 points, and then we might be all right.”
