MARK ROBINS says he's confident of making the right additions to Huddersfield Town's squad to mount a Championship challenge next season.

Just back from a European scouting mission, the boss says he has targets both at home and abroad.

That statement comes with sources in London suggesting Charlton's former Oldham and Bury midfielder Dale Stephens is of interest.

The Bolton-born 23-year-old is under contract for a further year, but its believed Charlton are willing to do a deal on a player who cost them s350,000 and has also been linked with Aston Villa.

"I'm not going to comment on specific names, but I am happy with the way things are progressing," said Robins, who has more continental trips planned.

"The scouting network which (head of football operations) Ross Wilson has set up is widespread.

"I am now following up some names it has produced. Sometimes it's to rule a player in, or sometimes to rule one out.

"We know the areas in which we want to strengthen, and in many cases, we know the players we would like, but deals are seldom straightforward.

I know supporters want information, and it will come out when the time is right. In the meantime, they can be assured we are following a methodical process.

"There will be no scatter-gun approach. We carry out the proper due diligence on anyone of interest."
