HUDDERSFIELD Town Academy product Tom Clarke is linking up with former boss Simon Grayson at Preston North End.

The 25-year-old utility man - Huddersfield Town's longest serving player after signing his first pro deal in 2005 - was not offered a new contract at the John Smith's Stadium by manager Mark Robins at the end of last season.

Clarke will sign at Deepdale on July 1 and the news comes just 24 hours after striker Lee Novak , who turned down new terms at Town, moved to Birmingham City on a three-year deal. See a picture gallery of Lee Novak's time at Huddersfield Town by clicking below.

Clarke, whose brother Nathan was a former Town captain, made 78 starts in blue and white stripes plus 33 more as a substitute, and he scored three goals.

He had loan spells at hometown Halifax, Bradford City and Leyton Orient and played for England at Under 18 and Under 19 level, although the early part of his Town career was blighted by injury.

Grayson always rated the younger Clarke brother highly and is sure to have him as a regular member of his League I line-up next season.
