HUDDERSFIELD Town will play Spanish side Real Betis in a plum home pre-season friendly.

It will take place at the John Smith's Stadium on Wednesday, July 24 (7.45pm) and will provide a tough test for Mark Robins' Championship staff.

Betis finished seventh in La Liga last season, qualifying them for the Europa League.

Frontmen Ruben Castro and Jorge Molina grabbed most of the Betis headlines last season, scoring 31 goals between them.

Town kick off their senior friendlies at Chesterfield on Saturday, July 13 (3pm) and follow that with a trip to York on Tuesday 16 (7.45).

Robins' men visit Rotherham on Saturday 20 (3pm) before the Betis game and a final friendly away at Oldham on Saturday 27 (3pm).
