HUDDERSFIELD Town will go into Championship action next season in a new Puma-manufactured strip.

The club are teaming up with the sportswear giant, who will produce home and change kits as well as a range of training gear.

The training wear goes on sale today while the home shirt will be unveiled on Friday, June 21, and be available the day after, with the change kit following on.

The home strip will make its first appearance at the John Smith’s Stadium for a friendly against leading Spanish side Real Betis on Wednesday, July 24.

Puma, established in 1948, supply 120 countries, employ 11,000 and have headquarters in Germany, London, the USA and Hong Kong.

The deal, which replaces that with Umbro, means Town join a football stable which includes Arsenal, Cardiff, Newcastle and Wolves.

“We know how much the shirt means to fans and hope they are as excited as we are about the partnership.”

Roger Harrison, marketing director of Puma UK, added: “Huddersfield Town is a club at that heart of their community and with a history of over 100 years in the Football League. We are happy to be associated with them.”

The first-team shirts will continue to carry the name of sponsors Rekorderlig.

It’s yet to be confirmed whether Thornton and Ross will continue their change-kit sponsorship.
