HUDDERSFIELD Town sold Jon Stead to Blackburn Rovers in February 2004 for £1.25m.
The young striker, then just 20, had earned himself a big money move to the Premiership.
But the former Hepworth lad remained a Town fan at heart.
Despite his blistering start to life in the top division which saw him secure England U21 honours, Stead made his way to Cardiff for Huddersfield Town's third division Play-Off Final that summer.
Stead, now 30, sat on the bench alongside team mates and eventually celebrated the win on penalties against Mansfield that saw Town move up a division under Peter Jackson after being consumed by the twin spectres of relegation and administration the previous season.
He was Town's top scorer in the season that he left with a total of 18 goals, 16 of which came in the league.
The previous season Stead had made his league debut against Brentford and ended up with six goals.
Now he's rejoined Town after his contract with Bristol City came to an end and many Town fans have welcomed him back as one of their own.
