Jewell keeps eye on gem Dickinson

LIAM Dickinson is to stay on loan at Huddersfield Town for a further month but Derby County are keeping a close eye on the striker's progress.
The 22-year-old has yet to feature in Derby's first team following his £750,000 summer move from Stockport County but has impressed with two goals in five appearances for Huddersfield, reports the Derby Evening Telegraph.
Rams manager Paul Jewell, whose team is short of goals having scored five in seven Championship matches, insists Dickinson is still part of his plans.
"Liam's loan spell is going well, so it makes perfect sense for him to stay at Huddersfield for the time being and continue to get that match sharpness," added Jewell.
"We've had him watched in every game he has played there and Stan (Ternent) and I speak regularly. Liam's scored a few goals as well, which has been good for his confidence.
"He is still very much in our plans but I have a lot of options up front at the moment, so I think it serves everyone's best interests for him to be playing regularly on loan." Rob Hulse, Emanuel Villa and Nathan Ellington are ahead of Dickinson in the pecking order at Derby, although only Hulse has scored in the League this season.
Huddersfield boss Ternent, the former Rams assistant manager, is pleased to have Dickinson on board.
"Liam has been a real asset to us during his time here and I'm delighted to have him for another month, although Derby have a 24-hour recall clause now," said Ternent.
"He was short of games when he first came here and there's still more to come from him, there's no question about that."
