Barnsley, Doncaster Rovers and Leeds United in tug for Sheffield United striker

THREE Yorkshire clubs could be set to battle it out for Billy Sharp.

The Sheffield United striker, who is currently on loan at Doncaster Rovers, is reported to be top of Leeds United boss Simon Grayson's wanted list - if striker Jermaine Beckford leaves.

Newcastle are reportedly mulling over a bid for Beckford, who will be out of contract at the end of the season, but are unlikely to go over £1.5m.

Sheffield United are apparently looking to recoup as much of the £2m they paid for Sharp, who they sold to Scunthorpe for £100,000 two years earlier.

But Doncaster Rovers are keen to try and keep the striker who has netted ten goals in sixteen appearances while on loan, while fellow Championship club Barnsley are reported to be interested in taking the striker to Oakwell.
