Transfer rumour latest: Huddersfield Town rivals Norwich City boss Lambert to move to Burnley according to bookies
Transfer rumour latest
HUDDERSFIELD Town's League I rivals Norwich City say they have had no approach for manager Paul Lambert after bookies slashed the odds of him taking over at Premier League Burnley.
Lambert's name was a surprise inclusion in the betting stakes - and will come as a shock to City fans who have seen him take the club into the second automatic promotion place in League One after taking over from Bryan Gunn in August, according to The Pink Un.
His odds have been slashed to 7-2 favourite by Ladbrokes to succeed Owen Coyle, while Sky Bet have him at 15-8. The other main player is former Sheffield Wednesday boss Brian Laws.
“He's staying with us and we have every confidence if Paul were approached and offered the position he would wish to stay with us,” said City chairman Alan Bowkett.
“And to be perfectly brutal, it is probable that we will be in the Championship next year and it is probable that Burnley will be in the Championship next year and I think Paul would prefer to work for the Norwich fans than the Burnley fans.”
