DANNY CADAMARTERI has joined Carlisle on a two-year contract.
The 32-year-old frontman’s move was confirmed on the same day midfielder Tommy Miller, another of the players released by Town this summer, signed for Swindon.
Miller, 33, joins ex-Town winger Gary Roberts at the promoted County Ground club, who will face Carlisle in League I next season.
Swindon become his sixth club, and the former Hartlepool, Sunderland, Ipswich and Sheffield Wednesday man has agreed a one-year contract.
Signed 12 months ago, he made 33 Town appearances, the last of them in the League I play-off final win over Sheffield United at Wembley.
Swindon have also brought in Brighton midfielder Alan Navarro.
Cadamarteri has had two spells at Town, separated by a stint at Scottish Premier League side Dundee United.
He played 50 times in his first stint, between the close-seasons of 2007-09, and 30 in his second, which began in January 2011.
He has also been at Everton, Fulham, Bradford, Leeds, Sheffield United, Leicester and Doncaster.
“I would love to play an active part in a promotion and that is the aim here at Carlisle,” said Cadamarteri, who is reported to have had rival offers from League I and the SPL.
“The way Carlisle play football is the way I like to play and this always felt like the best move for me. I can’t wait to get started.”
