Steve Black column: We can't wait for challenges
Lee, Faz and Terry have been beavering away watching as many games as seems humanly possible, both live and on DVD, to further ascertain the quality of our competition.
This hard work will hold us in good stead as the season progresses.
And while that’s professionally essential, we continue to tell the players that our destiny lies in our own hands ... it’s all about us!
If we play anywhere near our potential on a weekly basis we’ll be justly rewarded. We believe this and it’s a great place to be.
I’ve been visiting our academy on a regular basis and enjoy it thoroughly.
Good people, good coaches doing what they love with an enthusiastic and willing audience is very refreshing.
Well done Gerry and his team for the obvious good work they’re doing there ... as well as leaving us such a good resource to work with at the club.
As Bill Shankly once said: "You can’t make a chicken salad without the chicken!"
