Steve Black column: Statistics are vital, but goals scored will always be No1!

But against Hartlepool we played good football, superb football at times, created lots of chances, had some near misses, and their keeper made some great saves. But for all that pressure, we had the ball in the net once and so did they, so the spoils were shared, and Hartlepool were a lot happier at the final whistle than we were.

As always the fans who were able to combat the weather and get there were fantastic, and I hope they can see the way the team is developing in all aspects of play, other than that all-important scoring statistic.

We are all working on that on a daily basis and we know you’ll see the results from that focus very soon, hopefully at Bristol Rovers tomorrow, when we have another great opportunity to take the development that stage further.

Until next week, look after yourselves.

Onwards and upwards!

Blackie
