Steve Black column: Positive work will pay off

HI everyone.

After last week’s disappointing result at Tranmere, the road to the play-offs is indeed a challenge!

Of course, as I’ve said before, while putting in the structures and processes that will yield success over time we always need to have a main focus on the next game, the week-to-week bread and butter results that build or bring a halt to momentum.

So, with that in mind we’ve nine games left and 27 points to play for. If we win them all will that now be enough for us to claim one of those play-off berths?

Maybe, maybe not, but I do know that if we have a string of excellent results between now and the end of the season, it’ll be a big positive for everyone at and associated with Huddersfield Town Football Club.

It will bring momentum leading into pre-season for next year’s campaign.

While it’s mathematically possible to achieve, we’ve got to believe we can do it. Our training is going very well. The work ethic and quality of application is very good and it’s only a matter of time before that training consistency shows up in our games.

The frustrating aspect of this is the wait!

As we all – manager, coaches, players, backroom staff, fans – want to win every game, it can be frustrating because we all know the magical qualities winning brings to all our lives.

Tomorrow at home to Cheltenham gives us another opportunity to go on that run of winning games we all crave.
