Steve Black column: Positive work will pay off

Our pitch is looking good, an excellent surface on which to play fast, exciting football, which hopefully will become our trademark over time, but never at the expense of the main objective, that of winning.

Paul Stephenson, our Development Coach, is settling in well and his reserve team travelled to Hartlepool on Wednesday for a top-of-the-table clash.

Hartlepool put an experienced team out, so a tough test was expected for our young lads.

They are an absolute credit to themselves and ran out very worthy 5-0 winners.

There are some very exciting young players coming through, obviously well schooled by Graham Mitchell and his Academy staff, and I know Paul is equally excited about developing their play and talent further as they move towards the senior team. Well done you guys!
