REPORTS claim that Huddersfield Town boss Lee Clark is ready to beat Leeds United in the £500,000 race for Derby County striker Liam Dickinson.

According to the Daily Mirror , Clark came in with an offer for the former Stockport County striker who has been told he can leave cash-strapped County after enduring a miserable time there.

Dickinson impressed on his loan to the Galpharm earlier this season when Stan Ternent brought the striker in.

Leeds are reported to have asked to take Dickinson on loan first but Town are said to be prepared to buy the striker outright.

Plus there are reports in Scotland that Town may be looking at St Mirren hitman Andy Dorman.

Six foot one Dorman was born in Chester but played for Wales schoolboys.

He moved to America and played football while at university in Boston and made the leap to the MLS, joining New England Revolution.

He clocked up more than 100 appearances for the club, scoring 17 goals, before switching to St Mirren in 2007.
