A 27-year-old Huddersfield man has been taken to hospital after a three car crash close to McDonalds on Leeds Road.

The incident occurred at 1pm and the east bound carriageway is blocked by the vehicles.

Police and ambulance are on site.

The man, thought to be the driver of a black Vauxhall Vectra, has been taken to hospital with hand and arm injuries.

They are not thought to be serious.

The collision appears to have smashed the front of the Vectra.  Two other cars, a Renault Clio and a Nissan Qashqai are also involved and one other person has been slightly injured.

The smash close to the exit of KFC and McDonalds is causing significant traffic problems as fans arrive for Huddersfield Town's home fixture against Watford.
