MAY is a busy time for birthdays in our family. One of our daughters was born on the same day as me. Our son was born the day before and one of our granddaughters a couple of days before that.
We usually celebrate them all at once and last Sunday was the day. On Saturday Bren and I went shopping for the event. We filled our trolley with all the necessary items for a party, including a few bottles of champagne.
Unfortunately I did not pack the car very well because when Bren opened the tailgate two bottles of bubbly fell out onto the concrete floor of our garage and smashed. After a slight altercation I accepted full responsibility and we cleared up the mess.
However, the alcoholic fumes were very evident for the rest of the day. Our two cats live in the garage and obviously enjoyed the experience as they were unusually jumping about like frogs for many hours afterwards.
I am delighted there was some benefit to our loss and pleased to say they didn’t appear to have a hang-over the next day.
