New health and beauty spa now open in Scissett

A FABULOUS new health and beauty spa is now open in Scissett.

Located in the former Nortonthorpe Mills, The Health and Beauty Spa run by mother and daughter Julie and Laura Heaversedge, offers a wide range of face and body treatments aswell as a choice of holistic treatments to help create relaxation, feelings of peace, security and well-being.

The spa, which opened on August 1 is opposite the Nortonthorpe mill duck pond and has plenty of car parking outside.

It has been created from a section of the former mill and refurbished to create a fabulous dramatic interior featuring tented ceilings, a spacious reception area, various treatment rooms and shower, sauna and bathroom facilities.

Walk into the spa and the soothing black and turquoise decor, comfortable seating and warm welcome immediately makes you feel calm and relaxed.

Laura said: "We offer a unique experience here at the health and beauty spa and have worked hard to create a place of tranquility, peace and relaxation. The holistic treatments available include reiki (from a Reiki master), reflexology, Hopi ear candles and four hands massage (a unique style massage carried out by two therapists simultaneously to create complete harmony."

The beauty side of the spa includes a great range of facial and body treatments, all using highly regarded Dermalogica products. These include the Dermalogica face or body mapping technique which allows therapists to create treatments specific to individual needs.

Also available is Fake Bake or spraytanning to ensure you leave the spa glowing and looking fabulous.

Other treatments include manicures and pedicures using OPI nail polish, makeover photo shoots for both adults and children, wedding packages and hen party pamper evenings/days.

All staff at The Health and Beauty Spa were trained at Huddersfield's White Rose School of Beauty. Laura herself learnt the art of holistic treatments and previously worked in local beauty salons.

Together with her mother, she jumped at the chance when the former mill premises at Highbridge came available and revelled in the opportunity to create a contemporary spa facility for women, and men, close to Huddersfield, Wakefield and Barnsley.

With almost 4,000 sq ft of floor space, the spa is spacious, light and airy and offers the very best in today's modern facial and body treatments.
