RESTAURANT owner Roy Lau offers the ultimate dining experience at his establishment Canton Chef, right in the heart of Honley.

This restaurant, which has been called a 'culinary Tardis' has been described as serving 'the best Chinese food for miles around'.

Roy is rightly proud of the excellent reputation of his restaurant Canton Chef, built up over the last three years and where his food is enjoyed by loyal customers who return time and time again.

A recent Examiner dining out review spoke very favourably of the minimalist contemporary decor and excellent fresh food, beautifully prepared by Roy and his team.

Canton Chef offers a menu of authentic Chinese cuisine, all freshly prepared by the highly experienced chef and his team who are all experts in their style of cooking.

Walk into the Honley restaurant and you’ll find a pleasant bar and waiting area where you can enjoy a drink and study the menu. The restaurant itself is spacious and airy with plenty of room for diners to enjoy their food in a pleasant welcoming environment.

The menu itself is varied with something for all tastes including vegetarians who are well catered for. Set menus are available for between two and six people and include a wide selection of authentic Chinese dishes.

Our Examiner reviewer sampled the crispy aromatic duck and pancakes which provided enough for two to share. For main course, the reviewer chose sliced duck in oyster sauce and sliced fillet steak served with a satay sauce.

Everything was described as 'spot on' and with great attention to detail.

Soups, dim sum and a range of starters are available to get your meal under way with other main courses including speciality Cantonese dishes, chicken, duck, beef, fillet steaks, Chinese roast pork, sweet and sour, Egg Foo Yung, chow mein and seafood dishes.

A selection of European dishes is also available. Canton Chef is always open Bank Holiday Mondays including the forthcoming Spring Bank Holiday Monday.
