CRAGRATS BRASSERIE has a long and well deserved reputation for good food and a great atmosphere ... and things have just got even better.
The popular brasserie is back open for business under the new ownership of publican Jonathan Tiffany & Partners.
Jonathan and his father Stephen have successfully run The Ford Inn at Holmfirth for over seven years and took over the Hepworth restaurant after its owners went into administration.
They aim to widen the menu to include seasonal dishes and specials while creating a sophisticated and spacious new bar area for lunchtime snacks or even just drinks.
All food will be prepared to the same high exacting standards and use fresh locally sourced produce.
With chef Richard Whittaker still at the helm, the CragRats kitchen team remains the same, guaranteeing innovative, modern English menus and quality service.

Jonathan has broadened the already extensive wine list to include dessert wines and champagnes.
Orders are now being taken for the Christmas period and the restaurant will be open every day apart from Christmas Day.
And the improvements don’t stop there.
Jonathan says the restaurant will undergo redecoration and rebranding in the New Year to create a completely new look.
He also hopes to introduce guest ales from local micro breweries and make the venue the number one choice for weddings and other celebrations.
Jonathan said: “Our aim is to create a stylish and sophisticated mood at the restaurant while expanding the menu and maintaining the same high standards.

“Previously it had an image of being the place to go for a special treat, now we want it to be as accessible for a midweek treat and any time dining.
“The restaurant is already licensed for civil wedding ceremonies and we can accommodate up to 90 diners in the two restaurant areas, one seating 60 and the other about 30.
The staff team and I are excited about the changes we are planning to introduce.
“Why not come along and try the new-style CragRats Brasserie for yourself ? “We’d be happy to see people drop in for a drink and sample the ambience of our bar area. We have even added wi-fi for customers.”
The restaurant is open for lunch and in the evenings on Wednesday and Thursday.
CragRats is open all day from noon on Friday, Saturday and Sundays. On Sundays, diners can now enjoy a traditional roast dinner served right through until 7.45pm.
With ample car parking and spectacular views over the Holme Valley, the restaurant is an ideal place to enjoy a meal any time of week.
