Authentic Asian cuisine at Dera Ali Murad

Established since June 2009, the authentic Asian restaurant in Wakefield Road offers a real taste of Southern Asia and offers a great buffet deal for just £6.99 (£8.99 on Friday and Saturday).

Already Dera Ali Murad has built up a regular clientele and has many loyal customers keen to try the home-cooked Asian cuisine which includes a wide range of meat, fish and vegetarian dishes, accompaniments including home made chutneys, rice, naan bread, poppadoms and an extensive salad bar.

The Dera Ali Murad buffet for £6.99 (Sunday to Thursday) offers diners a choice of starters, followed by an extensive main course buffet choice and also a dessert of either fresh fruit or an authentic Asian sweet such as traditional rice pudding, rafmalai, sweet rice and more.

Diners are welcome to revisit the mouthwatering buffet for second helpings.

The owners of the Dera Ali Murad restaurant are already well known in the local area as they have run the nearby take-away in Wakefield Road for many years. Their move into the restaurant industry is a natural progression to offer their cuisine to a wider audience.

With seating on two levels for more than 100 diners, Dera Ali Murad is also ideal for corporate dining, office parties and special events such as birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, mendhis and Eid parties.

The restaurant is run by a husband and wife team and Zarina Javed says: “We have dishes to suit all tastes, whether mild or spicy, and we are always more than happy to make a milder curry for those who prefer. Whichever curry you may decide upon, all are made with traditional spices and to authentic recipes. There is always an excellent choice for vegetarians with a choice of starters and main dishes including vegetable samosa, vegetable pakora, Alloo Gobi, Daal and many more.

“Our team of chefs is led by Tahir Javed, a highly experienced chef who specialises in authentic home cooked Southern Asian food. All meat is halal and we are planning to introduce an à la carte menu in the near future to run alongside our popular buffet."

With it’s modern decor and spacious relaxed atmosphere, it’s hardly surprising that Dera Ali Murad is looking to be very busy this Christmas with many bookings already made for parties etc. The restaurant will be open all over the Christmas and New Year period including Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Eve when the popular buffet will be served.
