THE highly regarded Diminish clinic continues to offer new innovative treatments for hundreds of clients across the Huddersfield area.

Opened and run by qualified nurse Chris Haigh, the clinic has been established for over four years and specialises in permanent hair removal.

More recently Chris has created a garden area for clinic customers so they can relax either before or after a treatment. In recent weeks she has also seen completion of a new car parking area, created for customer convenience.

Nearly three years ago Chris was joined in the clinic by qualified nurse Nasreen Malik who has proved a great asset to the business, being able to speak both Urdu and Punjabi. She works part-time and is very popular with Asian customers because of her language skills and cultural understanding.

The bulk of the clinic’s work is hair removal using the original Plasmalite machine and the additional Chromolite system of intense pulse light, taken on more recently. The Chromolite machine has a larger lens which covers a bigger area of skin.

Being an independent skin clinic, Diminish always works to the very highest standards of care and uses advanced techniques coupled with medical expertise.

Diminish is registered with the Healthcare Commission and is situated in a separate clinic annexe attached to Chris’s home.

Plasmalite works by using the power of light to target the melanin found naturally in the hair shaft and hair follicle. Each pulse of red light causes the temperature within the hair shaft and hair follicle to rise. Once the temperature reaches about 70ºC, the proteins in the cells denature and each active hair follicle dies, its ability to regrow destroyed.

The number of treatments required does vary but Chris and Nasreen recommend a course of approximately 10 individual treatments.

Intense pulse light treatment has also enjoyed very successful results in treating spider veins and vascular lesions.

Clinic times at Diminish do vary and evening/weekend appointments are available to fit in with the busy lifestyles of clients. Treatments are also available during lunch breaks as there is no downtime needed.
