Sing your heart out and you could join the Choral!

THEY ARE acknowledged as one of the finest mixed- voice choirs in the country – and now’s your chance to join them.

Huddersfield Choral Society continues to recruit new voices to help keep its famous Huddersfield sound in tip-top condition.

This time next week the Choral will hold its annual open rehearsal, when singers can go along and discover more about the choir and its music. They promise a warm welcome to anyone who turns up.

The two-hour open rehearsal will be at Greenhead College on Friday February 8 from 7.30pm. Registration will take place in the college’s main hall from 6.30pm. Music will be provided.

The Choral’s chorusmaster, Joseph Cullen, will be preparing the singers for a performance of Mendelssohn's Elijah for the Subscribers’ Spring Concert in Huddersfield Town Hall on April 11.

The work is a great favourite of many singers, so it promises to be an enjoyable evening.

The choir, which has over 210 members, is one of the few large enough to do full justice to the great choral works. It welcomes new members and entry to the choir is by audition.

Rehearsals are held every Friday at Greenhead College from 7.30pm.
