Honley Players: Dick Whittington

THE Honley Players are wowing audiences as they stage their version of a pantomime classic.

The curtain went up on Friday for Dick Whittington, the popular story of his journey to London to seek fortune with his trusted cat.

The show promises lots of laughs for theatre-goers of all ages.

The cast includes father and daughter duo David and Hannah Barnes, playing Alderman Fitzwarren and his daughter Alice, long-standing member Susan Armitage as the Dame, Louise Leggett as the principal boy and Janette Ward as Tom the Cat.

The pantomime, being staged at Southgate Theatre in Honley, is directed by Dennis Thewlis and produced by Diana Hoyle.

Performances run to Saturday.

Evening shows are at 7.15pm with a Saturday matinees at 2.30pm. For tickets ring 01484 662378.
