Clowns, puppets, trains – and the Easter bunny

TWO days in the week after Easter are a must for the family diary.

That’s when Red Earth Theatre arrive in Huddersfield to play four performances of new show The Crane at the Lawrence Batley Theatre.

It’s a perfect Easter holiday treat taking place on Tuesday, March 25 and the next day.

Red Earth specialises in theatre for young people and children and are particularly committed to working for and with people with hearing disabilities.

Clowns, puppets and even miniature steam trains, are all used to tell the hugely inventive story of The Crane.

The piece is based on the children’s book by Reiner Zimnik and introduces audiences to the little man who lives high in the sky on a crane.

He thinks it’s the best job in the world and tells tall tales about a series of adventures which include cut-throat pirates, man-eating sharks and a hungry lion.

It’s aimed at those six and over but promises a great outing for the whole family.

Funny and energetic, this production of The Crane is a fabulous adventure story with lots of unexpected twists and turns.

As an additional treat, the Easter Bunny will be visiting prior to the show with a basket of treats for all the good girls and boys who come.

Performances are at 1.30pm and 7.30pm. Tickets are £9 + £6 children/concessions.
