August is arriving in April in Linthwaite ...

THIRD Week in August is the title of the latest production by Linthwaite Methodist Players. But it’s being staged in April.

The comedy is the fourth play by Peter Gordon to be staged by the group in the last five years.

As cast member Margaret Walmington says: “This speaks volumes for the popularity of the author and the reception that his plays have received.”

The production is being presented at Linthwaite Church Community Centre from April 10 to 12.

The action passes on a remote and rundown caravan site one summer, when a woman decides to escape on a solo holiday.

She discovers she is on the caravan site from hell.

Then things really heat up when a communal barbecue is the order of the day.

The cast of six is led by Graham Hirst.

As well as Margaret Walmington it includes Bobby Sykes, Helen Chapman, Margaret Moriarty and Andrew Johnson.

The director is Donald Sykes.

The play runs nightly at 7.30pm and tickets are £6 (£4 concessions on Thursday only) and £3 children.
