Elijah ends season

FOUNDED in 1836, Huddersfield Choral Society has an international reputation as the UK’s leading – and largest – choral society.

Its repertoire includes oratorios, religious music, contemporary music and commissioned works.

They will be in full voice in their home town in their last concert of the 2007/08 season, a performance of Mendelssohn’s Elijah.

It can be heard in the magnificent surroundings of Huddersfield Town Hall next Friday, starting at 7.30pm.

Bramwell Tovey will conduct the Orchestra of Opera North and soloists are Sarah Jane Davies (soprano), Karen Cargill (mezzo), Robert Murray (tenor), David Wilson-Johnson (bass/baritone) and Benedict Flynn (treble).

Although it’s a subscriber concert there may be a few seats left in the gallery at £12-£20.
