Band shines in competition

IT was celebration time at Sellers International Youth Band which had a good day at the weekend’s National Youth Championships.

The Huddersfield-based band, under its conductor Mark Bousie, took third place and were awarded a gold certificate in the community championship section at the Nationals last weekend.The contest was at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester and the adjudicators for the community championship section were James Scott and Simone Rebello
