Two share the space

TWO artists at Dean Clough, Halifax, share the space at the Lupton Square Gallery, Honley.

Suzanne North, of Longwood, is showing her latest sculpture while Doug Blinder, galleries curator at Dean Clough, is exhibiting a series of female life studies.

Suzanne’s work is turning in some interesting new directions.

She is showing some of her traditional work in Delebole slate, serpentine and granite, and also in cast iron.

But her latest work includes coloured cubes in fluorescent acrylic and black and white reliefs in styrene.

Doug Binder’s female nudes are seen in various poses, sitting, lying, kneeling.

He is publishing a book this summer, Full Circle, which brings a reminder of his life at Bradford Art College, where other students included David Hockney and Paul McCartney.

He was later to return to the subject at Dean Clough after a varied career.

Full Circle will be available at £35 through the press office at Dean Clough, Halifax HX3 5AX.
