Art: Standedge Visitor Centre hosts canal crafts day

CANAL crafts and heritage is being celebrated at the Standedge Visitor Centre in Marsden.

The centre, based near Standedge Tunnel, is hosting a craft day on July 4.

The morning session will focus on rug-making workshops and in the afternoon those taking part will learn ‘roses and castle’ painting.

This is the traditional paintwork style featured on canal narrowboats. Places cost £40 per person with lunch and refreshments included. Book by calling 01484 844298.
