YORKSHIRE Traction and Honley Band is thought to have broken a couple of records when it wowed the crowds in Scarborough.

Both are age-orientated and the records are thought to be that its new musical director, 19-year-old Nicholas Eastwood (pictured) is the youngest brass band conductor in the country.

And the band’s drummer, 79-year-old Raymond Berry, is believed to be the oldest brass band drummer in the UK. The band’s secretary, Peter Large, is also 79.

The band played at the Pavilion at Scarborough Spa – and the concert was recorded. The DVD will be released shortly and cost around £5.
