Music: Top organist Daniel Moult set for Huddersfield Town Hall concert

TOP organist Daniel Moult is set to lead the popular lunchtime organ concert at Huddersfield Town Hall.

The musician, who has an active career as a concert organist and organ tutor, will perform at the Huddersfield venue on Monday, March 8, at 1pm.

Daniel has an active career as a concert organist and organ tutor and has gained a reputation as a leading organist of his generation.

Based in London, he performs throughout the UK and teaches at the Royal College of Music Junior Department.

His performance will include J S Bach Prelude and Fugue in D, J S Bach Trio in G, C V Stanford Fantasia and Toccata, F Liszt: Consolation in D flat, C Saint-Saens Fantaisie in E flat and C M Widor Adagio and Toccata (Symphonie 5).

Recent and forthcoming engagements include profile concerts in the UK and Australia, a tour of Switzerland and France with the Kammerorchester Basel – as soloist in a Handel Organ Concerto – choir accompaniments and BBC broadcasts, directing and tutoring on various national organ courses and the launch of three recordings.

Tickets for Daniel’s show cost £4 or £3 for concessions and are available from the Kirklees Booking Office on 01484 223 200 or on the door on the day of the concert.

rFIRST though comes a date with organist Dr Gordon Stewart whose next lunchtime concert is on Monday, March 1.

The 1pm concert, at Huddersfield Town Hall, will include a programme of music by M Phillips: Empire March, D Buxtehude: Praeludium in D minor, M Festing: Largo, Allegro, Aria and Variations, J S Bach: Trio on Allein Gott in der Hoh sei Ehr, R Vaughan Williams: Rhosymedre and J Reubke: Sonata The 94th Psalm.

Tickets are £4 or £3 for concessions and are available from the Town Hall booking office on the number above.
