Film: Get in to the festive sprit with It’s a wonderful life at the LBT

FESTIVE favourite It’s a Wonderful Life will be on show at the LBT.

The UK’s most loved Christmas film will be shown on the theatre’s big screens on Friday, December 17.

The quintessential Hollywood Christmas film has withstood all the tests of time.

Having let down the citizens of Bedford Falls, George Bailey attempts suicide.

He is saved by Clarence, an elderly angel who shows him what Bedford Falls might have been had he not lived.

Made in 1946, it is one of the most heart-warming films produced by director Frank Capra.

At the time of its release the film was regarded as a box office flop but became the classic Christmas film in the 1970s after TV Channels were able to air the film for free.

Despite not selling at the box office, It’s a Wonderful Life earned five Academy Award Nominations including Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Director, Best Sound Recording and Best Film Editing.

The classic film is on show at the LBT on Friday, December 17 at 7.30pm. Tickets are £6 or £4 for concessions.
