THE Bronte Society will this weekend unveil their latest exhibition as part of their contemporary arts programme.

To be Forever Known by Catherine Bertola starts tomorrow at the Bronte Parsonage Museum in Haworth.

The Society’s exhibition, formed to promote awareness of the Dewsbury-based Bronte family, features installations, objects and drawings.

Bertola draws on the historic role of women in society, craft, production and labour.

The exhibition is a haunting sound installation that draws on the history of Haworth Parsonage and its famous occupants.

The artist recorded herself reading aloud extracts from the Bronte sisters’ letters.

They have been played and re-recorded over and over again into the space, until the words become whispers.

The exhibition, with support from Art in Yorkshire and supported by Tate, runs until July 8.
