There was a very strange occurrence during pianist Nicolas Hodges solo piano recital of Karlheinz Stockhausen’s Naturliche Dauern – the third hour of Klang – in St Paul’s Hall. Just towards the end of the first half of the concert the pianist is required to recite a short text, which Nic did – however immediately back came a voice in reply in what sounded like perfect Hebrew. A woman’s voice - so spontaneous and in perfect time with the piece. Everyone thought it must be part of the piece and it was only after the concert that I found out that Nic was as surprised as anyone else. No-one seemed to see or notice who had spoken the words! Very spooky!Read
