Waiting for go!

THEY rocked Huddersfield as support act to The Ordinary Boys in May last year – and for some their talents eclipsed that of the headliners.

Now Scottish sensations The Dykeenies are back in Yorkshire as part of a two-month UK tour.

The five-strong band from Cumbernauld will end their two-month tour at The Cockpit in Leeds on March 20.

They proved themselves to be one of the most exciting new bands of 2007.

Their album, Nothing Means Everything, enjoyed great critical acclaim and had a whirlwind summer that included a homecoming set at T In The Park in Balado near Perth before a euphoric crowd in the Pet Sounds tent.

This 2008 headline tour is their largest to date and will help launch their new single, Waiting For Go, on the public when it is released on March 10.

The single is a charged piece of music, with sour vocals and twisted melodies – encapsulating what The Dykeenies are all about.

The Dykeenies have received rave reviews – Kerrang! Called them ‘the new and worthy Manics’ and Q magazine praised their ‘snappy anthems’ and ‘youthful unstoppability’.
