Huddersfield's Evile rock gaming world

THEY'VE conquered Huddersfield and are currently touring Europe with their thrash metal music - now Huddersfield band Evile are entering the world of computer games.

The band have had their track, Thrasher, used on the US videohame ROCKBAND. It allows game players to try and play along with the guitar, vocals, drums or bass on classic rock tracks by using their control pad - and they are scored on their success.

American gamers playing ROCKBAND on the XBOX 360 and Playstation 3 were able to download Thrasher for the game from Wednesday (March 18). The game will be out in Europe later this year.

Ol Drake, guitarist with Evile, said Thrasher is proving a challenge for American ROCKBAND fans.

He said: "It's being received as the most difficult song to play and is getting a lot of play on the consoles."

You can watch a sample of Thrasher being played on ROCKBAND at YouTube by visiting http://youtube.com/watch?v=SQPO-gaGivE. In just one day, the YouTube clip received 10,000 views in one day.
