Film Review: 27 Dresses

Joanne says...

27 Dresses is a sweet rom-com with a female lead that women can relate to, feel sympathy with and want the best for.

Unlike many other rom-coms, 27 Dresses is not overly romantic, has plenty of laughs and a good soundtrack.

Even though it is heavily cliched, the lead woman, Jane, thankfully isn't overly needy and love-struck in a way that gives woman a bad name.

She’s kind, compassionate and the type of friend you would want by your side on your big day.

But like all rom-coms, Jane has the chance of a happy ending that all the, mostly women, in the audience were willing her to take.

Kate says...

I hadn’t heard much about the film before we saw it. I imagined it would be another girly chick flick.

I found the film very funny and uplifting and I was gripped all the way through to the end. Actually I was a little disappointed when it finished.

It was a really light-hearted girly film that made me want to get married.

I don’t want to spoil it for the readers but it had such a warm, happy ending that the lady next to me was wiping tears from her eyes.

I would definitely recommend this film to others and I’m sure I’ll watch it again once it comes out on DVD.
