Headliners and Northern Beats at Sleepers

SHEFFIELD indie stars The Headliners are a band on the up - and they're coming to Huddersfield.

The Headliners will play at the Vedett Live and Uncut night at Sleepers tonight (July 9) from 8pm.

After forming in Februaary 2006, they have built up a huge followingby gigging throughout the UK.

They played the Radio 1 New Talent Stage at Glastonbury and performed at the 2007 T4 On The Beach. Support slots with bands including The Twang, Mark Ronson, The Pigeon Detectives and The Hoosiers have also boosted their profile.

They also won the 2007 Channel 4 Unsigned Competition and were in the final few of thousands of bands in Channel 4's Mobile Act Unsigned contest.

Holmfirth's own Northern Beats will be ably supporting them on the night. They've been branded the 'most original band since Beethoven' by producers and are aiming for the big time.

After forming in 2006, they have built up a strong gigging reputation and have performed with big names such as The Stranglers, Fun Lovin' Criminals and Ocean Colour Scene at Holmfirth Picturedrome.

Entry to the gig costs £5.
