Fresh: Huddersfield band Scaramanga Six celebrate 15 years together with free album release

PURVEYORS of evil pop The Scaramanga Six have released a compilation album in the run up to their sixth studio album next year.

The Introduction to Scaramanga Six, available on the Bandcamp website, allows music fans a chance to name their price for the album or even download it for free.

Having headlined last month’s Oxjam event frontman Paul Morricone said their relentless drive for world domination was set to continue with a mini tour to Norway later this month and gigs in Leeds and Huddersfield over the winter.

He said: “We’ve got a new album coming out in the new year and we thought it was high time that we put the spotlight on our past repertoire.

“We’ve been going for 15 years and we’ve done quite a few albums and we’ve never stopped.

“The longest we’ve gone between gigs in that time is about three months.

“So we thought now would be a great time for anyone that hadn’t heard us to get an introduction.

“We’ve put it on Bandcamp because you can use it as you wish.

“People can go there and download it for free or if they so wish they can pay what they want.

“Hopefully it will generate a lot more people listening to our stuff, which is what we want.”

Morricone said their sixth album was set to be their most “flamboyant and symphonic” to date.

He added: “Our last album was much more stripped down whereas this one has got everything on it, strings, brass and so on.

“It’s a bit grander and the songs are more poppy but also darker.”
