Titanic aims to get ahead in spa therapies

THE growing spa business in the UK is always on the look-out for new treatments and services.

One noticeable gap in the market has been in the area of head and hair therapies.

While Indian head massage has gone some way to filling this gap, few spas offer treatments designed specifically for hair.

However, Titanic Spa, the Linthwaite eco-spa, has become one of the first locations in the UK to take on new spa treatments and products from cult hairdressing brand ghd.

Therapists from the spa were invited to the first training course run by ghd at its base in Keighley.

The aim is to provide hair treatments in a relaxing spa setting. Although some hairdressers offer hair and scalp conditioning and an increasing number of grooming ranges now include hair masques for home use, ghd wants its treatments to offer a new level of pampering.

Spa treatments include super-reconditioning; detoxifying; and emergency rescue for hair that has been exposed to heat and chemicals.

Treatments begin with a scalp exfoliation and head massage and finish with a ‘masque’. While the products work their magic Titanic guests are encouraged to use the spa’s relaxation areas.

Prices for ghd treatments start at £35 for 30 minutes but there are deals that include a blow dry in the Titanic hair salon afterwards.
