An easy way to curl hair

HAIRDRESSERS keep telling us that curly hair is coming back in a big way. But it will take a lot to prise the straightening irons out of most women’s hands.

Only the promise of another implement – to create effortless curls – will do the trick. Sassoon, as it happens, has a ceramic curler that promises it’s as easy to use as pulling scissors over ribbon. Not sure that’s a good analogy, but we know what they mean. The 230°C Pro Ribbon Curls is £29.99.

ALL this messing about with hair requires lots of products. VO5 has a new Style and Shine range with what they call Active Shine Boosters. There’s a creme to use on dry hair or damp hair prior to blow drying and which promises to de-frizz; a glossing serum mist, easier to use than the sort of serum applied by hand; a silk serum that is applied by hand for those who want to make it more difficult for themselves, and an old-fashioned hairspray to keep it all in place. Prices are £3.99 per product and they’re available from Superdrug, Sainsbury’s, Asda and Boots.
